CUTTING OFF OF UNGODLY SOUL TIES (FOR COUNSELORS) The concept of Soul Ties comes from David and Jonathan's close relationship as friends, as was described below: I Samuel 18:1, 3 & 4 ~ "Now it came about when he had finished speaking to Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as himself...Then Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. The idea is that when our soul (emotions and thoughts) are closely linked with another, both Godly and Ungodly Soul Ties can be formed. Godly Soul Ties are the bonds we have with others that draw us closer to God, while Ungodly Soul Ties are the bonds that draw us further away from God.
